Brothers, We have a busy schedule of events planned for the fall semester, and we hope to have you join us. Please mark your calendar now for the following events. Our next event is our Homecoming dinner on Saturday, October 14. All the information you need to RSVP is in the next section of this newsletter, but don’t delay! We need to have a head count for the caterer, so please RSVP no later than October 9 to guarantee your spot. On November 4 and November 5, we will be hosting another work weekend at the house. More details will follow in a future Paragon, but you can register now on our website. After a successful fall rush, we have four new associate members. Mark your calendar for Friday, November 17, as on that date we will be initiating our newest brothers. Details will follow in a future issue, and as always, remember that our future brothers believe Initiation is on a later date, so don’t spoil the surprise. All those events are in the future. As we pause and look back a moment, we would like to thank those alumni who joined the actives at Quaker Steak & Lube for our alumni-sponsored rush event on September 15. What better way to show potential new members that brotherhood is for life? Another event that is coming to a conclusion is our successful fundraiser to repair thirteen composites that were previously too damaged to hang on the walls. Thanks to many generous donors, all thirteen will return to the walls in time for Homecoming. Thank you brothers! Read on for a full list of donors and all the details. Looking to get more directly involved? We’d love to have you join us. Reach out to me at president@ohioalphabeta.org and we’ll match your skills and interests to our needs. Yours in the Bonds, Nicholas DeCenzo |

On Saturday, October 14th, we'll start with a cocktail hour at 5:00pm, followed by an evening of house tours, multiple raffles (need not be present to win!), and a catered meal:

In our July issue we put out a call for donations to help us repair thirteen composites that had been damaged over the years and were unable to be hung up on the walls of the house where they rightfully belonged. We are pleased to announce that thanks to the generosity of our alumni, all thirteen composites were dropped off at the frame shop on September 1. Barring the unexpected, you will see the composites back on the walls at our Homecoming dinner on October 14. When the composites return, they will have brand new frames fronted by a sheet of UV-resistant acrylic which will look great, prevent fading and be much harder to break than glass. We can’t promise the composites will never break again (they are still going to be hanging in a fraternity house filled with engineering students!) but at least the degree of difficulty should be much higher. We would like to thank our generous donors who made these repairs possible. In alphabetical order, they are: |

In addition, we would like extend a special thanks to Thomas Noe '95, who made a very generous donation toward the repair of all thirteen of the damaged composites in memory of Carl "Chick" Italiano. Tom and Chick were actives together in the early 1990s. Chick passed away in February 2020 and is greatly missed. As of this writing, our donors have covered more than 99% of the cost of repairing the composites. Your donation can help us cover that last 1% by clicking here to donate. |

On Friday, September 15, the Alumni Board sponsored a rush event in conjunction with the active chapter. Nineteen active members and eight potential new members (PNMs) joined alumni Nick Camino, Joe Gall, Ken Nagano and Brian Yu for dinner at the Quaker Steak & Lube in Sheffield, Ohio to cap off the fall rush period. | ||
We would like to thank again the following members of the Classes of 1957, 1960, 1961 and 1962 for their generous donation to cover the event costs for the actives and potential new members. |
