We are pleased to welcome Daniel Hong ‘18 and Michael Urbancic as the newest members of the Ernie Schmidt Club. Thank you brothers! Our 85 for 85 campaign concludes on May 31, so this is a particularly great time to join Brothers Hong and Urbancic. The next brother who commits to making a monthly financial donation to the Ohio Alpha Beta Alumni Association will push us to 30 total members, and we are very, very close to breaking $20,000 in total yearly commitments. A great way to see your support in action is to attend one of our work weekends. Registration is now open for the Summer Work Weekend. RSVP on our website for either Saturday, July 18 or Sunday, July 19, or both. You can also RSVP for the BBQ that will be held at the house on Saturday, July 18. More details will follow in a future Paragon. Want something sooner? The active chapter has invited the alumni to Graduation Gathering on Saturday, May 16. There will be a BBQ at 6pm followed by recognition of our graduating seniors. That 16th is coming up fast; please fill out the interest form so the actives can better plan for attendance and event details. Read the full invitation here. Thinking long term? Our Fall Work Weekend will be on October 10 and 11. Mark your calendar now! |

Academic Advisors |
Our chapter offers a heartfelt thank you to Professor Robert (Bob) Savinell for his steadfast mentorship as our academic advisor for more than a quarter of a century. We are incredibly grateful for the legacy of guidance and support he has provided to countless brothers throughout his tenure. Dr. Savinell was an initiated as an alumnus shortly after his son Robert Savinell ‘02, and a few years before his son Mark Savinell ‘08. Although he is stepping down as our advisor, Dr. Savinell continues as a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. We are pleased to welcome our new academic advisor, Professor Joao Maia. Dr. Maia is a professor in the Department of Macromolecular Sciences and Engineering. He is the father of our brother Antonio Maia ‘28. He was initiated as an alumnus of our chapter at the national exemplification of ritual on April 24. The brotherhood is eager to begin this new chapter together as we continue to prioritize our pursuit of scholastic success. |
