Two more brothers have chosen to join the Ernie Schmidt Club since our September Paragon, bring us to 21 total members. We appreciate the long-term commitments made by Susan Schen ‘98 and Jon Roth ‘00. In addition, we received one-time donations from Maynard Isabell ‘60 and Robert Modic ‘62. Thank you, brothers! We also want to thank Brandon Palmer ‘00. Brother Palmer joined the Ernie Schmidt Club back before we even called it the Ernie Schmidt Club, but in September he substantially boosted his monthly commitment. Thank you! The next brother who makes a monthly financial commitment to the Ernie Schmidt Club of at least $50 per month will push our total annual commitment over $14,000. Will that brother be you? Join us today via our website. |

Join Us for the Fall Work Weekend |
Our third and final work weekend of 2025 will be held on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16. We will kick off the weekend with a social event at Boss Dog Brewing in Cleveland Heights on Friday, November 14 at 7:00pm. Everybody will cover their own food and drink. To RSVP, please reach out to Ken at nagano@ohioalphabeta.org. Then on Saturday and Sunday we will invest a lot of sweat equity in 11016 Magnolia Avenue. This work weekend we plan to address a long list of smaller projects. We already have brothers who have committed to attend from four states! The more people who volunteer, the more we will get done. To help us plan, please RSVP now for one or both days on our website. Maybe you only have a small amount of free time that weekend, or perhaps you’re not feeling up to manual labor. No problem! We encourage all our alumni to swing by the house to say hello, check out the work we’ve completed already this year, meet some of our undergraduate brothers, and generally have a good time. We look forward to seeing you there. Can’t make it in person? Join us in spirit by helping fund our efforts. |

Join Us for Initiation |
We invite you to join us on Saturday, November 15 as we initiate our newest brothers into the Ohio Alpha Beta chapter that night. Initiation will be at Eldred Hall. The Long Walk will start around 8 pm, with Actives heading to Eldred Hall to set up shortly after. Alumni who want to participate should arrive at Eldred no later than 10:00 pm. And if you run into an associate member before that, remember that they think Initiation will be later in the semester, so don’t mention it to them. Between Work Weekend and the Long Walk, the associate members will be taken out to dinner at Mallorca at 5:30pm. Alumni are invited to join the active chapter for this dinner. If you are interested, please do the following no later than Friday, November 14:

Contractor Projects in Progress |
We’d like to thank Eric Malkin ‘89 who volunteered to assist us with meeting contractors at the fraternity house. His assistance comes at a great time, as we have several contractor projects that have recently been completed or that are being started. In addition to the kitchen range hood professionally cleaned, we also had an access panel installed to make it much easier to clean in the future. For several years, the porch off the Greenhouse bedroom on the second floor has leaked sporadically. Since this porch is also the roof of the Parlor room off the chapter room, this is less than ideal. We’ve attempted to fix it ourselves multiple times, but none of the fixes has stuck. We are now collecting estimates to have this professionally repaired. Cleaning the gutters has been a consistent part of our Work Weekends, but we do not have the equipment to safely clean the gutters on the third floor. A contractor has been engaged to clean those hard-to-reach gutters. We are also gathering estimates to have some damaged portions of the gutters professionally repaired. And as previously sent out, work continues on repairing the chapter room doors in a way that will preserve the current look and feel of the house. All these projects are funded by alumni donations. Thank you! |

Homecoming 2025 |
Last month, a small group of Ohio Alpha Beta alumni and significant others gathered for a warm and intimate homecoming dinner at The Fairmount in Cleveland Heights. Although not as grand as they have been in years past, the event was still filled with plenty of laughter, nostalgia, and of course, brotherhood. Attendees reconnected with old friends, sharing the latest updates on their personal and professional lives, and reflected on how the values of Phi Kappa Theta remain within each of us, long after graduation. Thank you to all who attended and helped make the event a success! Even if you were unable to attend this year, we appreciate your continued support of the active chapter and alumni association, and we look forward to seeing you all next year! |
